We first met Production Sound Mixer Chris Welcker at a sandwich shop in New Orleans having lunch with Justin and Lukas from SoundHard. A New Orleans local all his life, Chris started out in music and media and quickly found his niche in production sound. Since 2007 he has worked his way up through an impressive list of films including 12 Years a Slave, Jurassic World, Keanu, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Queen & Slim,

Sound recordist Henau Marais has over 18 years of professional audio experience working on commercials, reality TV shows, feature films, documentaries, news and much more. He’s helped capture some incredible sound on broadcasts/productions for the likes of Disney, the BBC, Discovery, RedBull, Microsoft, Warner and HBO. Listen to a recording of a blackbird in song at dawn by Field Recordist Benjamin Gale (spacewalkaudio.co.uk). It was recorded from Ben's balcony in the London borough of Camden early one morning in June. He used a Sennheiser MKH8060 which was fitted with The Spacer Bubble mesh base to protect from wind, while keeping the natural frequency response of the mic.
